Flowers on our fire escape
Here are pics of some of the beautiful flowers we’ve been growing on our current fire escape in our current old apartment. We’ll be transferring these beauties to the new fire escape. Hopefully they will thrive through the move.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch …
… we’re packing. Here’s what our current place looks like. Blech. The yellow wall is the kitchen area. Our current apartment size is roughly equivalent to our new living room and maybe part of the new bedroom. I’ll be working on drawing up our new apartment’s dimensions in Visio when I get a free moment.

The bathroom tile project begins
After several delays in scheduling, the bathroom tile project begins. We are just tickled with the tile we chose for our bathroom. We wanted a 50’s retro look and chose black and white subway tile for the walls, and six inch white square tiles with a black diamond for the floor. It’s just thrilling watching…

Kitchen cabinets get hung
Here’s a pic of our master journeyman carpenter, John Netherton, after having installed our upper kitchen cabinets from Ikea. They look fantastic! They have glass front doors and glass shelves.

Behr’s Autumn Maple
Here’s a shot of the bedroom with now at least 4 coats of paint. Please remember to factor in 1) the poor lighting in the room 2) my camera’s built-in flaws 3) the sawdust and schmutz in the air. Regardless of those factors, we can see right away that the paint is getting darker. This…
